This year the championship was arranged from 25th July to 2nd August, in Förde, on the west coast of Norway. Once again with electronic targets/scoring system from Kongsberg Mikroelektronikk. This year more than 5.000 shooters participated.
The Norwegian National Rifle Championship is in total one of the largest and most technical advanced shooting competitions in the world, with more than 5.000 shooters this year.
Since 2001 this huge competition has been arranged with 75 electronic targets from Kongsberg Mikroelektronikk (25 targets at 100m and 50 targets at 200m). The Norwegian Army has bought the whole package, in order to support such shooting in Norway.
The results were transmitted graphically in real time to the arena, teletext, Internet and WAP.
In addition totally 13 hours of the competition were broadcasted at Norwegian TV.
All this make the shooting sport much more popular for the whole population and is really nice for the recruiting.
Although approximately 250.000 rounds were fired during this week, the electronic targets/scoring system worked perfect all the time, and the championship was arranged successfully.
